In the event that "Credit card required to reserve" is indicated on any menu option, this means that your credit card information will be required in order to complete your reservation for this menu option.
The amount indicated will be held as a pre-authorized amount on your card of choice.
This means that the funds are held in escrow by your card company and not charged unless you are cancelling your reservation at the last minute or do not show up for your reservation as per the property's stipulated cancellation policy.
As noted above, this is only a pre-authorization and payment has not been completed.
The pre-authorized amount will be refunded after your visit and after the property processes the release of the pre-authorization hold.
cf. When will my charged money be refunded?
-
Certain cards, including debit cards (bank account-linked cards), prepaid cards, and other cards without the credit hold function are not able to process authorization holds. In these cases, the authorized amount will appear as a charge on your card and will be refunded once you successfully attend your reservation.
Please note that in some cases the amount will not be refunded, instead the initial charge will simply reverse (disappear) from your original statement. - The time frame in which refunds will be completed varies from card issuer, so please contact your card issuer for more details of your refund after you have confirmed the property has released your credit hold.
